The L.T.S.I. allows coaches at their events for sparring only, despite our not believing they are needed. All coaches must stand off the arena until their competitors are ready to spar. You may then enter the arena, but you are not allowed on the mat area. Coach the bout, and then you must leave. The organisers reserve the right to take action against any coach who is being rude or aggressive.

Any coach that physically places their hands on a competitor will instantly be given a red card and removed from coaching that day, and the L.T.S.I. will make a final decision as to whether the coach will be banned from all future events.

As of March 2024, any coach being aggressive towards officials or other coaches will result in a yellow card being issued to their competitor for the first warning. A second warning will result in a red card and an instant disqualification for the competitor.

Any warnings will be carried through all rounds.

Coach Rules:

  • Coaches have no say in how our events are run; you are there to aid your competitors only.
  • Your grade gives you no special privileges at L.T.S.I. events.
  • Coaches must never be abusive to our staff; do so, and you and your club will be banned from future events.
  • Only one coach per 10 competitors is allowed.
  • Coaches must only enter the competition area when their students are competing. Please stay on the outside of the mating area until your students are on.
  • Coaches are not permitted on the mat at any time; step on and you will be warned.

If you can’t agree to these terms, please do not sign up!
