Our History

Excel Tae Kwon Do is a founding member of both the Lions Tae Kwon Do Schools Independent (L.T.S.I.) and the new U.K. Organisation, the United Kingdom Tae Kwon Do Union (U.K.T.U.). The schools are run by Chris Snow, a 5th Degree Black Belt.

Chris is known by many in the Tae Kwon Do world as an outspoken coach who will stand up for his members and his basic human rights. On many occasions, he has spoken out against unfair rules placed on him, the L.T.S.I. and his members, and even had to leave groups over the years due to their unfair treatment and unworkable rules.

Excel are a group of clubs that are united as one and work to the rules of the L.T.S.I. You can guarantee NO other U.K. group will offer a fully transparent group like the L.T.S.I. or the U.K.T.U., as both are built on the same principles of fairness for all members.

Excel NEVER hold students back - we set a standard which is achieved by following the National Syllabus and, once you are ready and all requirements of the L.T.S.I. syllabus are met, you are graded. Over the years, we have taken on some rival schools members - this is because we do not hold anyone back as our clubs are self sufficient, so we don't have to. We do not like taking others from local clubs, but we fully understand that if your current Instructor is not delivering what you seek from your club, we will help you continue with your journey to Black Belt.

1 in 1000 people reach the Black Belt. We do not turn out many Black Belts a year, neither do we claim to give you a Black Belt in 12 months - you can reach it in 36 months (the minimum time with us), but you MUST reach the standard Excel expects or NO grading will be allowed. These times are based on 8 lessons a month minimum.

We offer a FREE resit on any gradings you may fail - this means you only pay once for each grading. In the fifteen years we have been open, only a very few have failed as our policy is 'If you are not ready, you do not grade'.

Our tuition values are fantastic. You can pay weekly at a higher rate, monthly in cash or by direct debit - it's up to you. Paying by direct debit saves you money. Also, families of three pay for two and the third person is FREE after paying for the enrolment packs.

Our monthly special offers are also a great way forward - once the month has finished, we cannot offer the same deal so if it is a great offer, you better join up before it has expired!
